My Favorite You Tube Channels to Follow
When I am in need of a little inspiration to get my scrapbook energy flowing again, I turn to one of my favorite You Tube channels and of the lovely ladies on this list. Each designer scrapbooks in a style that I like and I almost always take something away from the tutorials they make. This is a list of a few of my current favorites
Scrapbooking You Tube Channels
Mercy Tiara – I discovered Tracy’s channel as a recommendation to another scrapbooker’s channel. I watched her process video and just fell in love with her energy. She was the first scrapbooker I saw use mixed media on a layout. I couldn’t believe she was putting paint and watercolors on a scrapbook paper. I worried that the paper would lose shape and warp. It did a little, but by the time she finished, it looked fantastic! I feel like some of my personal style is like hers and I try to learn a new technique from her when I watch one of process videos. You will also find Tracy on SCT Magazine’s website and channel.
Jennifer Gallacher – I love Jen’s design style! Her layouts really put the focus on the journaling and photos. She uses plain cardstock and pattern paper in simple yet elegant designs. I love the fact that her pages are easy to recreate with items most scrapbookers most likely already have on hand. One of Jen’s series that I love the most is her Memories Made. I have taken inspiration from more than one of her videos and made it my own. Jen, like Tracy also has videos on SCT Magazine’s website and You Tube channel.
Jen Schow – Another of my favorite You Tube channels is Jen’s. I have been a subscriber for a few years now. She makes me think outside of the box with her Use it or Lose it series. She takes a product line, let’s say buttons. She makes a layout using some of those buttons and then decides if she still loves them enough to keep them in her stash. If she decides she doesn’t love them anymore, Jen re-purposes them or gives them to someone who will love them. Jen also has a series called Collection Disconnection where she takes a collection kit to create layouts that are very different from each other. I have followed along with this series more than once!
Shimelle -One of my favorite You Tube channels is by Shimelle Laine. I first found Shimelle on Two Peas in a Bucket. Two Peas was an online scrapbook store that had an amazing community and gallery. Shimelle’s sparkly friend Glitter Girl has helped scrapbookers around the world with their scrappy problems. I have learned so much from those videos and the problems that she addressed were many of the same issues that I was dealing with. Nowadays, you can find Shimelle on Facebook scrapbooking live on Mondays and Fridays. Her You Tube channel is one of my favorites, it has quite a few Disney layouts to find inspiration from and she teaches how to use sketches for inspiration. Shimelle is also a designer for American Crafts.
Lets not forget Project Life documenting channels –
Ali Edwards – One of my favorite You Tube channels and designers is Ali Edwards. I love to follow her December Daily every year. She puts out a kit every year to document your holiday season. Ali puts out a short process video to go along with each day of the month. She also does a Week in the Life series for crafters that enjoy pocket page (Project Life) documenting. I am not a big pocket page scrapbooker, but I do love the 3×4 cards and I love the way Ali uses the products. Many times I use the ideas she demonstrates but add them to my 12×12 layout. I always get excited for December to roll around to follow her on another daily album!
How About a Magazine You Tube Channel
SCT Magazine – SCT Magazine, also known as Scrapbook & Cards Today, has a great channel for scrapbookers and card makers to follow. They have videos on scrapbooking that are easy to follow along with. Both Mercy Tiara and Jennifer Gallacher have process videos on their channel, I love Find Your Mojo! Did you know that you can read the magazine on their website for free? The magazine comes out four times a year and I find something in each one that I want to recreate.
I know there are many scrapbookers on You Tube that make wonderful scrapbook process videos. These are just a few of my favorites and I hope you will check out one or two of their channels. I am always looking for other great scrapbookers to follow, so leave me a comment to any that you love and I will check them out.
