Favorite Paper Companies
I will admit, I am a paper hoarder. I love scrapbook paper! I love it so much that I find it hard to decide on a pattern to use. I also find it hard to cut into a pretty sheet of new paper. You would think that with as much paper as I have, it would be easy…it’s not. It takes me a very long time to look through each paper company, searching for the perfect sheet. I have found over the years, that I tend to stick to just a few manufacturers. Below are my 6 all time favorite paper companies.
American Crafts has grown over the last decade. They started with their own paper lines, which were very colorful and upbeat. In recent years they have hired some of my favorite scrapbookers to design collections for them. You should check out Amy Tangerine, Paige Evans, Shimelle, Maggie Holmes, Dear Lizzy, Heidi Swapp and Jen Hadfield. They also are now the parent company of Crate Paper, DCWV, Bo Bunny, Pink Paislee, Project Life, Pebbles and Bazzill Cardstock. American Crafts is also home to We R Memory Keepers (love their paper trays) and Ek Success.
Founded in 2010, Echo Park has some of the best papers for all of the seasons and holidays. Every year they come out with several collections for Christmas and Halloween. The company will usually make one or two of the Christmas sets in the vintage style and the remainder in fun, cute designs. The collection kits come with papers, a cut apart sheet and a 12×12 sticker sheet. Everything you need to make several beautiful layouts or cards.
I love the sets they design that are reminiscent of famous books – Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan are two of my favorite. I may be the owner of three paper trays full of Echo Park! Available to coordinate with the 12×12 papers are die cut packs, enamel dots, chipboard stickers and stamp sets.
Carta Bella founded in 2012, is a division of Echo Park. They manufacture the same collection kits and embellishments as Echo Park. The difference between the sister companies is the paper. Carta Bella’s paper lines are textured and a bit thicker. I love the feel of their papers and I admit they are some of the nicest papers in my collection.
I love Simple Stories Collection Kits because of the little extras. The collection kits have double sided 12×12 papers and some cut apart sheets. There are 6×12, 4×6, 3×4 and 2×2…all perfect for your pocket pages or on your layouts. I find myself using many of the extras on my handmade cards. Simple Stories has embellishments to go along with the kits and they design products for planners. I love the quality of their paper and their enamel dots!
If you are looking for papers that have an elegant vintage feel, check out Graphic 45. There paper lines are inspired by the 1920’s and 1930’s. The colors are deep, rich and vibrant. The papers are of an excellent quality. I have several of their collection in 12×12 and 6×6 paper pads. The papers are double sided and coordinate beautilfully.
When I think of Doodlebug Design, it always makes me smile! Their collections are bright, light and adorable. The papers are vibrant and whimsical. The collections and embellishments remind me of happy summer days and ice cream sprinkles. Doodlebug has paper, stickers, enamel dots, twine and washi tape. Everything coordinates perfectly and I love using their designs on my cards.

Believe it or not…there are many more manufactures that make beautiful paper that I didn’t highlight. I have papers from My Minds Eye, Authentique, Bella Blvd, Fancy Pants, and Jillibean Soup. There are so many wonderful designers out there making some of the nicest collections for us to create with.
I hope you will explore some of the ones I love and maybe find a few new manufactures to scrapbook with. Whatever you pick, just know it’s okay to cut the paper…or so I have been told!
